On today’s Coaches Corner, the Athletics Department we would like to congratulate and welcome back Coach Jorge Gutierrez to the Knights family! Coach Gutierrez will be taking over the Boys Soccer program.

“I am back!!” Coach Jorge Gutierrez was raised in the Coachella Valley, he is an Indio High School class of 2001 graduate where he was a multisport athlete being part of the Cross Country, Soccer, and Track Team. Coach Gutierrez is returning to Shadow Hills High School as the Knights Varsity Boys Soccer Coach. He first joined the Knight in 2014 as an assistant varsity coach for the Lady Knights Soccer Team. Coach Gutierrez was part of the Knights coaching squad that won back to back undefeated league titles (2014 and 2015) and the Lady Knights first-ever CIF-SS semi-final appearance, losing in the penalty rounds. Coach Gutierrez comes into the Knight family ready to work and build on to the achievements, on and off the field, that Shadow Hills athletics has been known for. “I am coming to Shadow Hills to build a soccer powerhouse, academic achievements, community involvement, and an example of the bright future of Shadow Hills student body by building strong standards and practices”. Coach Gutierrez holds a soccer license with the United States Soccer Federation and brings the experience of coaching at all levels and age groups. Off the field, you can catch Coach Gutierrez running, hiking, practicing Brazilian Jiu-jitsu, reading, or spending time with his family. Coach Gutierrez is scheduled to graduate from Cal State San Bernardino with a Bachelors in History in May 2021, he will be enrolling in a credential/Master program in June and plans to seek a career in teaching. “Knights, I am here to Think, Believe, Act, and Achieve with you. Knights Do It Right, and I can’t wait to get started.”
